To round out a hugely successful year, country duo Tennessee Twin are delighted to announce their latest single, a cover of the legendary song ‘The Sound of Silence’, aiming to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
This latest single, originally written by Paul Simon and recorded by Simon & Garfunkel, is being released to promote suicide awareness in conjunction with Papyrus UK. Having been touched by the stories of several friends who have been impacted by suicide in recent years, the duo felt they might be able to help promote awareness of the help available to people affected, especially as Christmas approaches. This new release hopes to do just that.
The single, which is completely self-produced at Tennessee Twin’s studio in Newmarket, lends the duo’s trademark harmonies to the song alongside a suite of acoustic instruments, paying homage to the mood of the original recording. Geoff & Victoria hope it can bring some hope and comfort to anyone who hears it, no matter what circumstances they find themselves in.
‘The Sound of Silence’ will be available to pre-order from this Friday 22nd November and will be released on Friday December 6th on all major platforms. While all profits from the single will go to Papyrus UK, it is hoped that an increased awareness of the help available to those who might need it will be the major impact of this latest release.
