More about our guests .......

LUKE FLEAR
Luke Flear is a multi-award winning UK Country Rock Artist, Singer-Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist.

From rich, raspy vocals and soaring guitar solos to acoustic deep cuts and piano ballads, Luke incorporates the bounce of Pop-Rock, the grit of the Blues and the soul of Americana into a Classic Country soundscape.

Born in Leeds, England, Luke has consistently performed across Europe since the age of 15 and made his move into the Country Music Scene during the summer of 2022. Since then, he has supported Nashville and UK based Artists, taken to the stages of major UK Country Festivals and venues, as well songwriter rounds and other Americana events across 2023.

Through the song writing, instrumental virtuosity, and natural love for the stage, Flear is among many others bound to change the UK's relationship with the genre. Every instrument you hear on record is played and produced by Luke, with the debut album exploring countless themes of ambition, addiction, love and hate in true singer-songwriter style.

Winning “Song” and “Male Singer of the year” at the 2023 UK Country Radio Awards as the year’s top finalist, Luke Flear is next to take on the challenge of conquering Country music in Britain and beyond.

THE JACKSON LINE
Featuring singers Keith Porter, Jamie Cook and Claire Williams, harmonies were always going to be front and centre in The Jackson Line, who deliver a modern take on classic Country and Americana. While they're comfortable sitting in the country genre, each member, including guitarist Jim Cross, brings a wide range of differing influences to the table to create thoughtful, melodic songs, which capture the essence of country while allowing their other influences to shine through.

Throughout 2023 and 2024, the band have been playing and releasing songs from their EP, ‘California’, recorded in Winnipeg, Canada with Juno Award-winning producer Murray Pulver. The first single, ‘Shade of the Pines’, featured on Apple Music’s 'Today's Country' editorial playlist, while the second, ‘Gonna Get To You’, was showcased on Baylen Leonard's Front Porch on Absolute Country Radio, as well as on Countryline Radio.

With recent sold-out shows at London venues such as the 229 and The Green Note, as well as festivals including Buckle & Boots, Black Deer and Tennessee Fields under their belts, The Jackson Line will be presenting their songs in a unique way at Cambridge Folk Club - as a duo, featuring Keith, Claire and a piano, stripping the songs back to the way they were first written.

PETER DONEGAN
Almost inevitably, Peter Donegan has been performing since the age of five, given that the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’, ‘King of Skiffle’, the late Lonnie Donegan, is his father. Lonnie inspired every British Invasion band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin.

Peter has opened for such esteemed artists such as his late father - Lonnie Donegan and even country music legend - Crystal Gale. He has shared the stage with some of the world’s legends such as Van Morrison, Tom Jones, Joe Cocker, Billy Bragg, to name a few

Peter Donegan broke out on to the Country Music scene with his much-anticipated E.P, “Superman”, recorded in Nashville, TN. USA, which gained such reviews as “If you like Eric Church, try this!” (justlistentothis.co.uk).

This album got the attention of Country2Country festival - London where he was an immediate hit and that lead to Peter being scouted by The Voice UK, where he became a member of Sir Tom Jones’ team, securing a viral duet with Sir Tom of one his biggest hits, a song, written by Peter’s late father – I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.

In 2019 Peter released his album - ‘LIVE’, recorded at the old Decca recording studios, London where he invited a host of fans to watch a live performance in the same studio that his late father recorded his industry-changing first hit – ‘Rock Island Line’. This album received rave reviews such as “...this album is almost unparalleled…” (americana-uk.com).

Peter is also an accomplished event producer. In 2019 successfully producing, directing, and performing in a second sell-out event, this time at London’s Cadogan Hall, to celebrate his late father - Lonnie Donegan and the 65th anniversary of the recording of the hit that changed the British Music Industry - Rock Island Line, alongside such legends as: Van Morrison, Billy Bragg, Leo Sayer, Chris Farlowe to name only a few.

As a scholar of the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, Peter had a successful Buddy Holly Songwriting retreat in Lubbock, TX. He wrote songs with legends such as Sonny West (composer of most of Buddy Holly’s hits including ‘Rave On’) and Mark Nevin (previously of Fairground Attraction and composer of ‘Perfect’).

Peter released his single 'Thank You Texas' which was co-written at that writing retreat. This song climbed the charts rapidly and stayed at #1 on the HotDiscTop40 for over 4 weeks, as well as #11 on the UnitedDJ Heritage Charts for 6 weeks, ahead of releases from Paul Simon & Dion and The Pretenders.

Most recently, both Peter and his latest single ‘Thank You Texas’ won awards for ‘Best Male Vocalist' and ‘Best Original Song’ respectively at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards 2020.
